As of the census of 2000, there were 329 people, 136 households, and 93 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 254.3 people per square mile (98.5/km²). There were 178 housing units at an average density of 137.6 per square mile (53.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 86.32% White, 13.07% African American, 0.30% Asian, and 0.30% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.91% of the population.
There were 136 households out of which 27.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.3% weremarried couples living together, 16.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.6% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.88.
