The racial makeup of the city was 82.35% White, 0.44% African American, 0.45% Native American, 0.71% Asian, 0.17% Pacific Islander, 13.21% from other races, and 2.67% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 28.42% of the population.
There were 2,380 households out of which 30.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.3% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.7% were non-families. 31.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
