As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 2,155 people, 741 households, and 532 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 117.4/km² (304.1/mi²). There were 819 housing units at an average density of 44.6/km² (115.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 78.05% White, 1.95% African American, 1.53% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.28% Pacific Islander, 14.34% from other races, and 3.48% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 31.42% of the population.
There were 741 households out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.9% were married couples living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% were non-families. 22.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.36.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 28.2% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who were 65 years of age or older.
