The racial makeup of the town was 85.33% White, 12.87% African American, 0.30% Native American, and 1.50% from two or more races.
There were 136 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% weremarried couples living together, 16.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.5% were non-families. 25.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.92.
