Atkins is a city in Benton County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,670 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Atkins had its start in the year 1881 by the building of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad through that territory. It was named for a railroad official
