Rice is a city in Navarro County, Texas, United States. The population was 798 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.3 km2), of which, 2.7 square miles (7.0 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (3.21%) is water.
The city's namesake is William Marsh Rice, who donated the land for a city church and the city cemetery. He is the same person for whom Rice University is named. Its unofficial motto is "The city so nice, they named it Rice."
The City of Rice is served by the Rice Independent School District.
