As of the census of 2000, there were 245 people, 97 households, and 71 families residing in the town. Thepopulation density was 446.6 people per square mile (172.0/km²). There were 111 housing units at an average density of 202.3 per square mile (77.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.43% White, 6.12% African American, 1.22% Native American, and 1.22% from two or more races.
There were 97 households out of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.9% weremarried couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.8% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the town the population was spread out with 24.5% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 24.9% from 25 to 44, 23.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 85.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.0 males.
