Syracuse is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States, between the Great Salt Lake and Interstate 15, about 25 miles (40 km) north of Salt Lake City. It is part of the OgdenClearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Syracuse was incorporated on September 3, 1935.

Commercial Development

In early 2006, a large national commercial developer began construction on a new Town Center which is located on the land south of Syracuse Jr. High School and within walking distance of the city offices, police and fire stations, community center, and many of the city's houses. The Town Center Development will include many large retail chains such as a Starbucks (out of business), Wendy's (construction beginning soon), Checker Auto Parts, Baskin-Robbins, Godfather's Pizza, Papa Murphy's Take-and-Bake Pizza, Quiznos, Taco Del Mar (out of business) , Gandolfo's (out of business), and The UPS Store. Some other small locally-owned businesses have also located in this establishment, including Artichoke Fields (out of business), Happy Rabbit Snow & Skate (recently re-opened), The Mobile Source (an exclusive T-Mobile dealer), Pizzaretti, and Imperial Sushi. All these retail stores are anchored around a Wal-Mart Supercenter. The town center may also include other restaurants and housing areas.

Syracuse Town Center Stores:

The 10 acre parcel just west of the Wal-Mart Supercenter includes a 6-screen stadium seated theater, retail and restaurant pads, and office space. Leasing information can be obtained by contacting Hawes Brubaker Neider at 801-277-1011. Construction of the new cinema and adjacent retail locations began on Thursday, July 19, 2007.

"Syracuse Stadium 6" opened May 22, 2008.

In Spring of 2009, Sparetime Family Fun Center opened across the street from the police station and city building, providing bowling, laser tag, mini golf, and an arcade. Along with this building came Arby's and the construction of an adjacent strip-mall featuring Pure Salon, Snap Fitness, Keith's Marshall Arts (inside Snap Fitness), and Bajio Mexican Grill (opening soon). Construction on an Iceberg Restaruant and Syracuse Car Wash is scheduled to begin shortly.

Lots on Antelope Drive are also available, offering big box, mid-box, and small business properties. A November 2007 vote overturned a decision to block the serving of alcohol in the city, as citizens hoped to attract high-quality "sit-down" restaurants.
